Terms of Service

Lumios · Last updated 23 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Lumios, operated by Ellac Thendo Motloung, a sole proprietor trading in South Africa. By creating an account you agree to them.

What the service is

Lumios plans, scaffolds and hosts web and mobile applications that you describe. You get a dev environment for each project and, on a paid plan, a production deployment with your own domain and TLS.

The coding agent runs on your own Claude account, which you connect in Settings. We do not resell Claude usage and we do not bill you for agent time; your usage is governed by your agreement with Anthropic.

Plans and payment

A free trial runs for three days on one project, dev environment only. A card is required to start it and is charged on day four unless you cancel before then.

To verify that the card is valid, our payment provider places a small verification charge at sign-up — a minimum of R5, which may differ by bank — and reverses it immediately. It is not a charge for the service, and it may appear briefly on your statement before it clears.

Paid plans are R350 per month, or R3 000 per year (R250 per month), and include up to three projects in dev and production. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Prices are in South African rand. We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is charged and no tax invoice is issued.

Payments are processed by PayFast (Payfast (Pty) Ltd). Card details are entered on PayFast's site and are never received, stored or processed by us.

Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from Settings, without penalty and without contacting us. Cancelling stops future billing; you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Your code and your data

You own what you build. The generated code is yours, you can export or push it to your own GitHub repository at any time, and that stays true after you cancel.

You are responsible for what you build and deploy, including its lawfulness and any personal data it collects from its own users. Do not use the service to build or host anything unlawful, to attack other systems, or to mine cryptocurrency.

Fair use

Each project runs in its own containers with memory limits. Idle dev previews are stopped automatically and start again when you open them. We may suspend an account that is degrading the platform for other people, and we will tell you why.

Availability

The service is provided as-is, without a guaranteed uptime level. We keep nightly database backups, but you should treat your own GitHub repository as the durable copy of your work — export it.

Liability

To the extent permitted by South African law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including under the Consumer Protection Act.

Changes

We may change these terms or our prices. A price change never applies to an existing subscription without notice: you will be told before the amount you are billed changes, and you can cancel first.
